Dear Residents of House District 108,
The first session of the 124th Maine State Legislature was gaveled to a close at 2:16 am on Saturday, June 13, 2009. It was a long and full session that saw almost 1,500 bills come across our desks in one form or another. And a variety of important issues were discussed and voted upon.
I want to share with you a summary of the just completed legislative session, however that is not an easy task. Luckily, I have been given permission by Chris Hall, Senior VP, Government Relations for the Portland Regional Chamber to share with you his excellent and extensive legislative end of session summary. We will begin the second session of the 124th Legislature in January, 2010. In the meantime, please be in touch with me if you have any questions regarding bills and issues from the first session or need assistance with any state matters.
